Mainly for beginners this book is a nice mix of creative graphics which attempt to explain the most important variables that affect exposure. The text in support of each graphic is a bit too sparse. I would have liked to have seen more explanation. For example, crop factor is explained without any mention of how it affects depth of field, f/number (it doesn't) or how it impacts the effective focal length of a camera lens. Guide number graph tables are provided with no mention that the GNs are calculated using metric based distances. The formulaes don't work if you use distance expressed in feet. The section on Exposure Compensation has an error in the text regarding when negative and positive exposure compensation is required. Glossary could be more complete (i,e., did not include Guide Number). These shortcomings are minor and I believe the author provided a very useful introduction to EXPOSURE. The infographical approach really works. You go away with visual images in your head of the elements of exposure which help to make a difficult subject more easily digestable. I would like to see an expanded second edition in the future.
